About MehrEran
Kindness Is Our Creed!
MehrEran is a community-led, non-governmental initiative founded by Iranians in Australia, with members and supporters across Iran, Europe, and beyond.
We bring together people who care deeply about Iran, while also engaging with broader cultural, social, and civic issues in Australia and globally. At its core, MehrEran is about connection: between past and present, between culture and identity, and between people across borders. Our work spans several areas.
We actively support the Iranian people and advocate for freedom, human rights, and democratic values. Through public gatherings, community engagement, and dialogue with policymakers, we aim to ensure that the voices of Iranians are heard and not overlooked.
Alongside this, we are committed to preserving and promoting Iranian culture and heritage. We run Shahnameh reading sessions, organise cultural events, and create spaces where language, literature, and history are kept alive across generations. These efforts are particularly important for younger Iranians growing up outside Iran, helping them maintain a meaningful connection to their roots.
We also maintain an eBook library, providing broader access to Persian literature and cultural materials for our community worldwide.
MehrEran also contributes to public discourse, by writing extensively on Iran, culture, and global affairs, with articles published in outlets such as The Spectator. This body of work informs and strengthens the perspectives we bring into our activities and advocacy.
MehrEran is not confined to one geography or a single issue. While Iran remains central to our mission, we care about the societies we are part of, including Australia, and we engage with global conversations that shape our shared future.
We reject all forms of extremism and authoritarianism. We stand for a future where Iran is free, where culture is preserved, and where communities remain connected through shared values of dignity, responsibility, and respect.
For us, this is not abstract. It is personal, cultural, and generational.
